Mail2 seems to be down and out due the onboard network card. We are working to replace it now or switch to the 2nd nic now.

My domain is set to use mail2 as the primary MX, and mail3 as the secondary MX.

I was under the impression that in the event of mail2 going down, my emails would be received through mail3 instead. However, this isn't happening and the incoming messages are being rejected. Anyone know why?

Is it possible at all to use an alternative Vortech mail server (i.e. mail3, mail4 etc.) as a backup when a primary one fails? Or do I need to set up a backup MX with another company?

I am hoping I am wrong, but it appears mail sent to mail2 mailboxes during that two hour period are lost. I sent 3 emails to a person on that server, and none have been received... yet.

Techs? Are these and others really lost, or are they sitting in a queue somewhere? TG

We got another 1000mbit network card working in the MAIL2 server. Everything is back to normal. I apologize for the downtime and the headaches it has caused.
