I noticed on the freeSSL site that they do not list AOL as a browser that freessl is compatible with, but GeoTrust does list AOL. Is that probably why the claim of 99% vs 96%? If one beleives that a substantial number of site visitors may be using AOL, does that suggest that a site should use GeoTrust, or someone other than FreeSSL?[/quote]

Good observation. Can anyone verify that the AOL browser is not compatible with FreeSSL?

If that were the case, I think I may get the Geotrust through EV1servers...only $49.

Besides price, is there any difference between purchasing the QuickSSL from

EV1servers.com - $49

vs

FreeSSL.com Reseller pay as you go - $135

That's a big price difference. How about service?

Theres a QuickSSL and a QuickSSL Premium Certificate. FreeSSL sell the Premium version, this has a few added features and may be the reason for part of the price difference.

No doubt EV1 buys them in real bulk as well several hundred at a time so can get some pretty heavy discounts from Geotrust that way as well.

I don't know about AOL being compatible w/ freessl. That info is probably not current anyway. If the browser is old and the certs then that could cause issue. Considering how little has changed on a web browser they certainly always have a reason to get you to upgrade. So sooner or later someone will. Heck if you use AOL just minimize their clogged up interface and load your browser (ie,netscape etc..) and surf like normal.

In my rush to get things setup here as a new Matrix reseller. I opted for the GeoTrust Cert at EV1 for $49. It seemed like it would be a better option than the limited browser support with the Chained SSL for $20.

Regarding the order process, I was thoroughly impressed, and had my cert ordered and installed into HSphere within 35 minutes with a little help from Tech Support

Now, I just need some customers to place some orders
