If its Legarde's StoreFront 6 I may still not work. We really don't support any of there changes for security reasons. If you can get it to work, great. But the last time I looked at there site they needed a lot of changes we would not make.

Thanks, Brad.
Legarde released a service pack in march have you tried it since then? Do you remember what specifically the problem was with getting it to work? Thanks, Justin. |

The asp.net user if I remember right needed some kind of permission that we could not. Then they needed the everyone user set on a dir and we don't use the everyone user because of security reasons.

Thank you Brad,
Just one more quick thing. I located the permissions requirments on Legarde's site for StoreFront 6: http://support.storefront.net/storefront6/kb/kbview.aspx?kbID=241 The only thing I can see that might be an issue is tbe fourth item: "the ASPNET user/IIS_WPG should be given Modify permissions on the entire web, with the additional ability to Delete Subfolders and Files." Do you have any problems allowing the permission requirements? I really appreciate the help. Thanks, Justin. |

I have been developing with SF5AE, MUCH different than the dot net version. There are two other components that require installation and if I recall, this hosting company was unwilling to install them. It was for the protection of the rest of us that share the server.
The one customer that "required" Store Front is hosted at another location and they are paying (directly) through the nose. I am currently converting the entire website to CandyPress (highly modified) now. In SF5AE - it is possible to create the website locally and manage it with the merchant tools add on online. Properly created it was not necessary to install the other components but it does render the GUI useless. If your customer is used to using the imbedded tools, then you will have to install the other components. My experience with SF5 leads me to believe it is not worth the effort. Talk them out of it if possible. If someone asked me to develop and host a SF website (again), I would charge no less than $5000 per month.
