about ImageMagick

Hello everyone!

A quick question: is ImageMagick installed on the Unix servers?

If so, which version, and what is the path to it?

If not, coul it be installed? (pretty please )

Thanks,

Daniel

Im

It is installed (at least on the UNIX plans...) as for where it is, I have no clue. When I installed MT it found it and didn't need to know the path or anything else about it.

What are you using it for?

pwb.

Try: /usr/local/bin

All unix boxes currently have ImageMagick 5.5.7.11 installed. IM utilities are in /usr/local/bin.

Thank you all for your replies.

pbradley503: I'm starting to use typo3, and some of its functionality requires ImageMagick to be installed.

keidsjedo and alexc: just to be sure. Then the path is "/usr/local/bin/ImageMagick"?

Thanks again,

Daniel

The path to the binaries is /usr/local/bin ... ImageMagick isn't actually a binary that exists, rather ImageMagick is a suite of programs

Newguy here:

so let me understand, ImageMagick is in /usr/local/lib/ImageMagick
and binaries are in /usr/local/lib/bin

what are some examples of binaries?

thanks for the clarification

"ImageMagick" isn't installed anywhere. The separate utilities that make it up are in /usr/local/bin:

/usr/local/bin/conjure
/usr/local/bin/convert
/usr/local/bin/display

Just some of them.

websapien, the direct link to ImageMajick's binaries (command-line utilities) page is:
http://www.imagemagick.org/www/ImageMagick.html

For most apps/scripts, all you need to know is that the binaries are located at:
/usr/local/bin/

thanks a bunch, I just needed the path for an application that I am testing that uses ImageMagick.

now that I have the path, all I need is to set aside the time to get things working correctly
