Without Billing Plans turned off???

Can someone explain this new policy. Does this mean existing non-billing customers are disabled or that new signups for non-billing plans has been disabled? Please advise. Thanks.

If the plan is turned off it simply prevents new customers for signing up for that plan. It does not effect existing customer you may have assigned a plan which is without billing.

Basically, what they are saying is to turn moderation(signup guard) on. Anybody not moderating is asking for it w/ the amt of fraud that goes on these days.

So, if I turn "moderation" on, the plans will work correct? I don't make the non-billing plans available to the public. Instead, I use them to setup testing or project websites for my consulting clients. Thanks.

Well not so much at this time. We found yet anther bug in H-Sphere..

If a plan is on and even with moderate everything if the plan does not have billing it will not go in to moderation. It will be setup right then. We have reported this MAJOR bug to Psoft and they said it was a minor bug and would not be fixed till 2.4.1. To say the least I raised hell. They are now working on a patch for 2.3. and will also include the fix in 2.4 as far as I know.

At this time it would be best to turn off any plans with out billing so no one out side your CP has access or able to signup for plans with out billing.

To clarify for those of us that do use non billing accounts,

I set up plans without billing for clients who pay me for hosting. I either copy a plan or create a new one depending on their needs, turn it on for signups, and then turn it off for signups once it is set up.

Will we still as an admin, be able to set up accounts without billing as needed for new clients?

Yes you can still do it. We simple turned off plans that had no billing that users had left on because found many fraud accounts on the systems.

In other words, what safety precautions we were told all along are being enforced. You can't let leave non-billing accts. w/ signup on moderated or not. Great bug

PSoft is fixing it... even for 2.3 (Even though 2.4 is slated to be out May 4th).

In fact, its fixed now

If you have Moderate Everything enable, then you can safely enable without billing plans

Now for the "Moderate Without Billing Plans" option
