Service Window 2/20/04

Our provider will be upgrading their network this Thursday Night / Friday morning at 2:00 am with a new core switch. We are scheduling a service window from 2:00 AM until 5:00 AM. Currently we expect a less then 10 minute outage as we bring the new switch online, and transfer the edge switches over. There may be a few rolling outages for different customers as we confirm the stability of the switch.

We also attempt to put our PIX firewalls in place at this same time if they are ready and tested to go. This will minimize the downtime if we can put the pix firewalls in place on the same schedule if they are ready to go.

What was the outcome of the scheduled outage? Did the PIX firewalls go in?

No the company redoing the pix configs never got it back to us in time..

Once we get it and tested we will setup a new time for that.. I was pushing to get it all done at the same time the provider did their's but missed it..
