Adult Content Legality
I am hoping the admins/and other resellers can help me out here. I am finishing the last semester of my bachelors degree in Technology Management and I am having to do a legal analysis of a fictitious company.
The company is located in Ft. Myers, FL (so its local to vortech) and they plan on hosting adult content. What are the legal issues they should be aware of and how can I reccomend they handle it? I am not asking anyone to do my work, but I have found it VERY hard to find legitimate information online about these issues without getting into porn sites, ragings debates over the morality, etc... I just want to know some of the real legal issues with running a hosting company that plans on hosting adult content based out of Florida. Thanks.

Being as no one hosts adult content I am not sure how much they would actually know about this issue.

why not do a search on webhostingtalk.com - be very cautious, though, you never know what you're gonna get.
I would recommend signing up with someone for a month, trying them out, then if you're satisfied put your client's site there.

The customer is responsible for having proof of ownership of the pictures and content. Along with proof that the content is of girls/boys over the age of 18. Proof is provided when the content is purchased from a content provider.
Is that what you were looking for??

Sort of. Lets say you and Brad decided to take advantage of the business you already had, and wanted to create a pay sait that contained pictures and videos. You weren't a customer of anyone, you were the host. OTher than making sure the content you posted (which could be bought or self-produced) what type of legal issues are there?
One I found is that you have to make sure to make an effort to block underage viewers from access to the site.

What about reading the disclaimers on a reputable porn site? I know the guy who owns www.bondage.com, so I'm pretty sure this company is reputable. As reputable as S&M can be. I'd sign up with them and cruise their legal disclaimers.

The biggest opportunities for legal trouble would be using content than does not belong to you or that you have no legal right to. Or content of underage kids.
