You can charge as much as you want for the software and the service, but you have to give the source code to your customers.
Also if you develop some components/modules/elements, it would be nice to release them to te community.

Check mamboforge.net out. Tons of material there.

Also, I'd wait for 4.5.1 and use a commercial HTML editor, the included ones are either unstable, incomplete or non-crossplatform.

I'd have to agree, Mambo is cool stuff. However, can anyone share some end-user (client) experience? Typically clients have a totally different perspective than a programmer or designer. Most of the feedback that I've heard have been from programmers on this and other forums.

And for the seasoned, maybe brave, would you be able to share conversion experiences from other CMSs? (sorry if this should be a new thread)

Congrats, vonbrocklin.

I've been using Mambo since 4.013, the upgrade to 4.5 was awesome. I thought this would solve all of my problems. It hasn't. It still has a bit of a learning curve for some of the novice users I thought I would provide it for.

For someone who knows what they are doing it can be an awesome free tool. I use it for my internal website/intranet. Although I haven't checked in a couple months, the components seem to lacking and somewhat buggy/not fully developed. (I'm not a developer, so I just like it to work).

So, I am mixed about it at this point, but have several customers using it happily, several who would like something easier.

Just another perspective. I'll have to check out xMambo - thanks!
