amail - outlook2003 - spamassasin

I'm hoping I've done sometihng wrong here but I'm getting some very strange occurences on muy email in the last day or two.

First - i've turned on Spam Assasin
Second - I've just upgraded my client to Outlook 2003

So here's the deal.
If I log into webmail/@mail and read a message - that message does not get downloaded when outlook "does it's thing" but all others are

Now, as if that wasn't strange enuff get this

After outlook has downloaded the 'unread' email if I log into webmail the initial page that comes up shows that I have no messages in the 'Email Summary' area BUT if I click the 'Read Mail' icon or go to my inbox directly any messages I had previously opened are still there.

Does anyone have the faintest idea what is happening here and if Spam Assasin and.or outlook are to blame.

This doesn't happen on acconts I haven't turned spamassasin on.

Cheers

Shea

No problems here with Outlook 2003 & SA. Mail read through webmail downloads ok, and is deleted off of the server.
For your outlook email account, check the advanced options.
There's stuff there for manipulating what happens on the server.

I'm running Outlook 2003's spam handler (very good BTW), Norton anti-Spam, and Norton anti-Virus on the client. No conflicts with Spam Asassin.

Here is my experience and workaround

One setting you can change online (set to YES) in @mail is: Leave messages on Server
For external POP3 accounts only. Choose if you want to leave messages on the server.
Checking this will allow you to read the mail online and then have it download when you start outlook. If it is set to NO then any messages you view in @mail will not download to outlook, but will be there again when you use @mail.

Hope that helps.

ah-ha that might be it

The account in question was set to No so I set it back to Yes. Not sure how or when it happened but it was probably me when bolloxing around with spam assasin and upgrading my outlook

Hope it works and cheers
