Spam Assassin question

Do you have Spam Assasin hard enabled for the mail servers so it is not configurable at each account level?

It is configured at the server level, not at a per account level.

If Hsphere doesn't provide it at a user level, then we can't.

Cpanel supports it at the user level, so its there at the userlevel.

I want it at user level and I am going with a Cpanel account so that's fine for me. I want all email to come through and I filter them client side as Spam Assassin in the past has filtered business emails that shouldn't have been filtered and I just don't trust it anymore

Well, SA filters but doesn't necessarily delete. We have a high threshold before we drop the message, otherwise it gets tagged as spam and sent on to you, and you can decide weather to drop it or not.

Maybe it was something with my previous host but when I would turn on SA at even a low level of 3 it would tag the span appropritely and I could filter it with my mail client but some business emails that had nothing in them to cause SA to do anything would be lost. It only would happen when SA was enabled so I guess I'm a little gunshy

I will test it here while I do my setup this month.

SA is very configurable. Evne if SA marks it as spam, it includes a score report, so you can filter by your own score as well.

Take a look at headers once we get SA back on, its got a nice little report there = ) (You may find one particular test you dont want to accept email from and blcok that one test, regardless of the rating, etc. etc.)
