Katrina Donations

Hello Peoples,

We are going to send at least 2 big server boxes full of supplies to people in Louisiana that have lost everything. They don’t have homes, cloths or jobs. They were left with nothing. We would appreciate anything that any of you can give. Please don’t feel that you have to give anything, this was just an idea that we came up with to help out. Just think that could have been us. They need simple things like;

• Bottled Water
• Non-perishable food items
• Convenience foods
• Can openers
• Hygiene items ( Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Mouthwash, Deodorant, Shampoo, Conditioner, Bars of soap, Q-tips )
• Picnic supplies
• Small charcoal grills and charcoal
• gloves, tarps, plastic
• Over the counter medication
• First aid kits
• Flashlights, batteries and candles
• Trash bags
• Towels
• Washcloths
• Bug Spray
• Sunscreen
• Or anything else that you can think of!


Must of the above can be found at the dollar store or at Walmart, so it’s not that expensive. We are not looking for grade A stuff, just some simple things that we take for granted that these people need. Or if you don’t want to go to the store you can always donate some cash. Like I said before, please don’t feel obligated to do this, we are just trying to do our part.

I just wanted to say anything you guys give will be greatly appreciated. One of the teams that participated in my 2006 calendar is actually from New Orleans. I have been talking to them over the past week and they all have lost everything. Their business', homes, clothes....it's all gone. All they have now is what they took when they fled. This is the most horrid thing I think I have ever seen and I realize that what happened to us last year with the hurricanes is not even remotely close to what has happened in Louisiana, Alabama & Mississippi. Please remember whatever you can give will be deeply appreciated.

normally when something happened and vortech ask for help ( donation ) it's seem lot people interest and help but this time seem quiet ? hello ? anybody home ?

Yea I know, kind of odd right. We are making a big donation our self and way hoping for more support. I know some of you guys here have big hearts, and any thing at this time will help.

I personally lived in West Palm Beach. Got hit twiuce last year by the hurricanes, had minor house damage, and lost a restaurant I owned. I just moved to New Orleans 1 month before Katrina Hit. We lost everything. I would love to donate myself, but Unfortunatly I am unable to. But to let you guys know. What we went through last year in Florida was a thunderstorm comapred to what hit us here.Most of us are still without power. I drive 4 hours to get internet access. Even if you guys do not want to donate money are anything. It would be great just to let people here know that they are not forgotten.Its been a very lonely place here for the past 6 weeks.

I think many people are already donating thru other channels. I always try to go thru local channels before you guys.

mrbadgolf, you can be sure that many people have NOT forgotten the people there. You are in thoughts and prayers everyday. There have been some very devastating things going on worldwide this past year... Those poor pakistans just got konked in a matter of seconds. Mother Nature is something we simply cannot beat and should respect.
