Exclamation Vortech servers VS Movable Type

Hi

About 3 days ago the new Version of Movable Type ( one of the best publishing platforms for weblogs and group publishing ) released. but it seems that the new version ( 3.2 ) is not working on vortech hosting servers. and it seems it because of servers old IIS versions (5.00) or somthing els...??

I think it is a very important feature for many of vortech hosting costumers and the company shuld be notice to it.

Don't think any version of moveable type is installed as part of the standard package.

According to their website it should work on any server with IIS 5 or higher.

Also, it is intended for a unix system, you can see that here:
http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/...de/#entry-5256

"As a Perl-based application though, Movable Type has historically been most at home on Unix-based operating systems "

It has very specific and different instructions for windows installs. You may need to submit a support ticket if your unable to set permissions or call the required Perl module on Windows.

Yes but I try to install it on two of Vortech servers but it dident work. I already install Movable type ver 2.64 and 3.11 in about 7 of vortech Windows servers. and install a 3.2 Version on my local server. but can't install ver 3.2 on any Of Vortech servers. I already Open many tickets on vortech for help. and even open a ticket for Movable Type support site. and one of movable Type developers told me that it might be something worng with IIS.

Well we can only offer limited support for troubleshooting 3rd party scripts. Especially those that explicity state they are made for unix machines. My suggestion would be to get as much help from the MT people to offer a suggestion or to host them on unix boxes as the developers state works better. We cannot possibly change our IIS configuration for a blog script that would work perfectly fine on a unix box. I hope you understand.

Also, I noticed the upgrade they made is geared toward Windows 2003 which we do not yet offer as a web server in our Reseller cluster.

As an aside, why no Windows 2003 servers as yet?

To get MT 3.2 working on Windows Servers, make the change below in each of the following cgi files: mt.cgi, mt-add-notify.cgi, mt-atom.cgi, mt-comments.cgi, mt-search.cgi, mt-tb.cgi, mt-upgrade.cgi, mt-view.cgi

The line that reads

use lib 'lib';

change to

use lib 'path\to\mt\lib';
