Vortech Network Router Announcement

Tomorrow morning 2am between 3am ET (Wednesday, December 8th) we will be upgrading our router to a Cisco 7606VXR. This should not cause any downtime during the switch over but we would like to allow 5 - 10 minutes of network downtime as we push several routes from one router to another just in case we run into an issue along the way.

This upgrade will allow Vortech to handle the occasional DDoS & ARP attacks that our customers under go from time to time without them affecting other clients. This is one more step on our road to provide the most stable and redundant network possible.

Hello,
Friendly neighborhood network tech here.
The router upgrade went well. No downtime at all. We are working to bring Cogent back up as there were a few issues we knew we were going to have to deal with. This should be resolved sometime this morning. Everything seams to be going well. Load is low on both the new and old equiptment and all is right with the world.
