Any chance that Vortech can try to establish a similar deal for an online CC processing service that can be used by Canadians? (perhaps PSIGate.com, or another one that can be used by Canadians?).

Hey Craig,
Just a note and indication to others that I am really pleased with this service. Been with them about 6 weeks now and have gone through the cycle once. Like the pricing, like the service better than my previous processor. I really like getting the gross amount into my bank account for each transaction. . . makes accounting a lot easier to have them deduct them all at the end of the month. Able to transfer my current AMEX and DISC accounts directly over. Thanks for throwing this offer our way. Yeah, we're helping you out too But it's worked real well for me.

Looking at e-online for cc processing. Has anybody else been using them for other types of payments associated w/ their business? I am particularly concerned with the Electronics part. I don't sell alot of computers, being svc oriented, but clearly cc acceptance would be important for this. Anybody else using them for this kind of situation? What was your experience? Tryin to find out what the fine print might be. Are there are no other monthly fees other than the $10 and you can process manually for customers correct w/ virtual terminal? I would guess if you take cc out in the field that phone processing would be cheaper do they do this? Otherwise your looking at laptop and dialup. Wireless during main bus hrs. thru pda or wap I would think would get alot more costly. Also what is the technology fee they show?

On their site it says "Internet accounts INCLUDE real time Payment Gateway & Virtual Terminal " I'm going to give this a try. I'll blog the results here. FYI: I have been a direct "ISO" for a merchant service company in past years and I have a good knowledge of the process. I have trained outside sales staff to market and qualify B&M merchants as well as review the risk management/underwriting criteria closely. From what I've read of what Vortech is offering, it seems like a really good entry level deal. On another note: It would seem that if I sign up for a merchant account from their affiliate link, they [Vortech] are kind of obligated to support this processor in the control panel wouldn't you think? :cool2: (This is the one that got me. I have a B&M Travel Agency and we are running about $20,000 per week through our American Express, however I have found it's not uncommon for travel agencies to be restricted because of charge backs. It's not fraud, it's just the nature of the business.) Prohibited Merchants/Industries We do NOT provide Merchant Accounts for the following types of Merchants: • Business Practices Promoting Racism, Violence, Abuse, Discrimination or Other Immoral Activity • Illegal products/activities of any kind • Intellectual Property Rights Violators • Escort or Dating Services • Internet Pharmaceutical Sales • Answering Services • Diet Centers • Investment Opportunities • Liquidators • Collection Agencies • Multi-level Marketing • Time Share Sales • Bankruptcy Lawyers/Firms • Travel Agencies • Adult Videotext Merchants • Long Distance Services • Pre-paid legal advice/services • Male or Female Sexual Enhancement Supplements or Products • Pre-Paid Phone Cards • Secure email services • Airline Tickets • Credit Repair Services • Drug Paraphernalia • Gambling Establishments • Lottery Sales • Massage Parlors (unless licensed for physical therapy) • Age Verification Services • Negative Option Billing • Cable box de-scramblers • Imitation Designer Handbags • Annual Billing of any kind • Matrix Merchants • Knock off Athletic Shoes • Human Growth Hormones • Online Tobacco Sales • Extended Warranties

Anything that deals in high sticker price items (which arguably holidays can be) are regularly subject to extra conditions, like you say nature of the business

What is the technology fee on that page? They just make up fees. Some industries are rapant with this. I still have to consider the most economic way to process on-site in the field. Amen for Amex..They are not perfect, but can really help a business.

I have been using e-online data for about two years now, I have not had ANY problems. I have used the virtual terminal for equipment sales a few times and never had any problems.
They may limit your transaction amounts since there main market is for low transaction/low risk merchants. I have done transactions with the virtual terminal for as much as $1000.00 and not had a problem. |

Does anyone know id downloadable music falls under the same special underwriting category as downloadable software?
Got a client in the music business who's thinking of selling music online.

I also find the annual billing option odd. Hey trace you may want to change your sig about no monthly for payquake. Also how weird is it that there is a payquake.com and net that look like different companies. Are they?

They impressed me! Popped their sales support an email at a quarter after eight this evening and got a reply in minutes. Apparently music downloads are standard rate and not subject to the additional underwriting that software downloads must satisfy.

top of app says "This APPLICATION is not open to the public - this is reserved exclusively for our Sales Reps" so doubt if they will honor it even if you use it.
