Your download speed : 918728 bps, or 897 kbps.

gotta love it.

Shouldn't you get better than that for $42.95?

I'm doing this for $44.95:

Your download speed : 3513435 bps, or 3431 kbps.
A 428.8 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 257024 bps, or 250 kbps

not much choice when comcast is the only game in town.

a couple of different tests put me between 1.0 and 1.8 megabits per second

by the way who is that, thats one hell of a connection, t1 speeds.

I'm surprised at the price Trace/DV Host, I thought they gave Broadband away with yer chips at the supermarket in US? :-) I pay under $40 USD / month for mine w/ unlimited bandwidth in AU.

Don't think I can match those speeds - especially DVHost - WOW! But the test is probably only accurate for US testers anyway.

As I understand it, here in Canada, we have some of the best speeds and prices. My cable modem runs at 5Mbps down and 1Mbps up, and I pay only $40 a month, which at the current conversion rate is about $32 US.

Just a bump and updated... I did get around to making the new IMAGES.tgz on Thursday, but never said I'd actually done it.

No, I don't know of any place giving broadband away.
Comcast here as well. Others are available, but they are best. The consumer level 3Mb. They also have 4Mb for a little more. Ends up being under $43 by the time you have fees and taxes. No modem rental in that either. But my speeds are pretty much what they say. There are higher commercial level services for more, as well. They really don't give much upload in US.

That speed is from central va to DC.

Your download speed : 3123764 bps, or 3050 kbps.
A 381.3 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 245188 bps, or 239 kbps.

Does this archive have the old images with a double-archived .tgz file within these also or is WinRar doing crazy stuff on my machine?

What is the recomended Windows GUI program to de-archive the .tgz file

Cheers!

I've tried using WinZip - 8.1 SR 1 and it always gives header error information for the posted images archive so I went to WinRar which doesn't spit the dummy.

Does WinZip work for you with this?

Are you getting all the old images and another archive within the archive in this new file also?

yeah it appears there's another IMAGES.tgz floating around inside that archive... I'll fix it ... not a huge deal though, you should still be able to extract the files...

I can extract them with WinRar but since there were a couple of archives in archives being extracted I wasn't sure which one was the new one.
