2004-10-05: nt10.hsphere.cc

As announced, we are beginning the migration of nt10 to a new machine. During this process, your sites will NOT go down, nor will FTP, nor mail (which isn't hosted on the server anyway).

The control panel however, will be unavailable for the next several hours while the resource creator runs.

Files are being copied now... Any changes made after this point probably won't carry over.

Still working with NT10. Sites are still up which is good, and the new box is almost ready to go - accounts are created, websites are setup, content is copied, and permissions are currently being set. In a few minutes I'll switch the IPs and hopefully everything switches smoothly.

one of my sites on NT10 got the directory index turned off, so the site went missing for a couple of hours

the rest seems to be fine. I guess I was just unlucky.

Is there a quick way to find out what client sites are on what machines? Is there a HSphere report or something for that? I have no idea if I'm using NT10 or not!

No simple easy way I'm afraid .. well not until the API is turned on at least .. hint hint !

Personally I record all the server/signup details in a spreadsheet as I get each new customer then just turn that into contact records in outlook so I can easily email all folks on a server if I need to.

That's a good idea, thanks Brangwyn.

So the API isn't available yet? I was reading the docs a few days ago and getting very excited!

Well I'm hoping Brad will look into turning it on now that we've been HSphere patched again. I suspect some of the issues regarding memory usage on the windows boxes that other resellers who enabled the API have had are not HSphere related but actually due to folks just not using the latest MS SOAP release, so perhaps Brad can make sure he's upgraded SOAP then give it a shot

CP <-> Windows communication uses SOAP, but this is separate from the XML API... They aren't dependent on each other (IE, we could turn SOAP off for Windows, but turn on the XML API...)

Anyway, SOAP for Windows has been working, since we did enable it, but again, nothing to do with the API

We'll see about turning on the API next week, once we're sure we're stabilized and get some other necessities out of the way...
