Mail11 is down for about 2 hours now. Please post more details about this update.

For the moment Mail11 is online, after data bas been migrated to the new machine I will switch the live box.

FYI: when i telnet mail11. i get the following MAIL8 header...

Yes, they never fixed the header.

I am building a new Mail11 right now, the current M11 will be online during this build. After Mail11.2 is setup I will copy the data, again leaving the server online. If all goes well you might not even notice the switch.

Please do not ask how long will this take like questions. I will provide status when I can.

Mail11 lost a userfile this morning during its constant reboots. Its why some users are having issues.

The good news is I have a offsite backup of the email domain data.

The new box is built, data migration will commence shortly.

Aaron, i know your priority is to finish the migration, but it would be helpful to have some more details to tell our users.

At this moment some accounts in a same domain get an error when trying lo logging and others not.

I have tried sending an email to a test account i have created, although i can check this account the mail i did not got the sent email.

What should we expect during data migration.

Everything is working smoothly, at least for the domain i am testing.
It seems the migration is done or almost done.

Im about to start the final rsync. For around 5-10 minutes mail will be down.
When it comes up its on the new server. I will post when we are running on new hardware. After that wait around 15 minutes before sending in tickets, to let us fix the obvious errors (if any!)

Well its been an hour an no tickets, good sign

The new mail11 is really totally new. Its a new hardware platform for our mail servers, AMD Opteron based. New hardrives and ECC memory was installed as well. As for the software it was all compiled and installed today with the latest revisions available. The machine itself is running FreeBSD 6.1 RELEASE with all patches (p10). I have high expectations for this machine!
