We have peering with ComSat that is one big ISP in Brazil. Embratel only peer with Tier 1 Providers. Brasil Telecom we are talking to them and trying to set a session.

Just set up RIPE peering. This doesnt get us much connectivity to people, but we are now connected directly with the K-root servers. so, faster DNS and DNS propigation through these servers.

I was having a few MySQL drop out issues today - having to reload pages several times, etc - but the speeds I've been getting from Oz lately have been fairly good overall.

Whereabouts in Oz are you? Sounds like over east and NZ is significantly better than Perth - pings from here are usually 320-340ms. What do you guys get?

I'm in S.A. and am getting 240 to 250 at the moment, which I'm quite pleased about. BUT when things aren't good it flies over 300ms and at times has been outta this world. BUT, I think since the new carriers, etc - it appears more consistent - TOUCH WOOD! :-)

Another new peer just came up.

LimeLight networks.

They have a nationwide OC48 backbone.When they came up we instantly started pushing 2Mb/s of bandwidth to them so someone out there is seeing the speed improvement..
