@mail limits the number of sends per day

Can anyone tell me why @mail limits the # of sends per day? I got an error tonight - it was this:

Message Denied
Your IP address has sent the maximum number of messages per day. To reduce the possibility of spam, your outgoing message has been blocked.
Contact your e-mail administrator () for assistance.

I know I used @mail a lot today, but what's with the limit?

May be built in to @mail. We upgraded awhile back. Since web access can be easier to exploit probably limiting amt. I cannot possibly imagine using that for any kind of volume. Kinda klunky. That is def something we should know about tho for customers.

I'm guessing that's a limit that Vortech can adjust. I probably sent over 100 messages yesterday. I realize it's not ideal to use regularly, but sometimes I have to use it a lot if I'm away from my office

Never heard of this before.

I can easily send out 25-50 emails a day, just in regular buisiness and I have a few clients who have good clean opt in lists with over 100 recipients as well as one I have with about 200.

If thers a limit, which I cant believe if there is one its only 100, we need to know.

could that be a recipients email like aol blocking you at 100?

anyone?

**edit** guess i missed the @mail part, but still interested in the answer.

Yea it has a limit to help control abuse:

Number of email messages an IP can send via @Mail each day. Useful to prevent scripts abusing the sendmail function. By default the setting is set to 100. Max Msgs per IP/Day:

This was set to 50 messages, I put this up to 99. If you need to send more then that it would be best not to use webmail and use you're email client.

that's my trouble sometimes, though. If I'm on the road, or on vacation. It's not often that I have to send that many per day, but it happens

Guess I could use multiple email accounts... no wait, it's by IP address. Any other solution? Thanks Brad...

sometimes we use the broadband that hotels are getting more and more, or I'm using an outside computer completely - thus the need for webmail. But thanks for the idea

Edit - Oh and I'll take that 10 bucks if you're offering

Funny. By the time you pay the hotel bill for phone charges, that $10 will be handy to buy a couple of shots to take the edge off
