Change Plan Save $20 Bucks + More Bandwidth.

We have killed off all the I and II plans as there is no need for them.

So if your on on CypherI, CypherII, MorpheusI, MorpheusII, NeoI, NeoII, ZionI or ZionII if you login to your CP and goto Billing then to Billing Profile and click the edit Icon for your plan. Just change it to the same plan with out the I or II and you will save about $20 per month and get about 10GB or more free and nothing will change..

Drop in Per GB pricing as well! From $4 to $2.50.
Bandwidth : 2.50 Per GB

Bandwidth Upgrades!!
Cypher 25GB
Morpheus 30GB
Neo 35GB
Zion 60GB

All I and II accounts are about $10 to $20 high as and were setup for one OS only deals. Well come to find out there is no way for us on our side of the control panel to split the space like we thought. So there is no need for these plans and the first will work fine.

The site has not yet been updated with the new bandwidth totals. This will be coming with in the next week..

Would it be possible to have these announcements in our mailbox in the future? This is a pretty big change.

I think it credits you for the part of the month you have not used on the CypherI Plan then charges you for the next month on the Cypher plan. So you billing data changes to the day you change the plan. That part is right and should do that as its the only way the system can really keep up with every thing.

The bandwidth does seem to be a problem and going to look in to that.

So if any one wants to change over if you do it the day before your rebill date not much should change besides your billing date moves up one day.

Thanks

There is also the tax problem, which might not bother too many people, but still, we should be billed the same way as before the change.

Tax

Tax was added to every account on every system now. Not much I can do about that.

We pay taxes on every customer so it is not cost effective any longer to not charge tax on all plans we sell.

I see a couple of problems with this approach.

1) It's not stated anywhere on your website or on the agreement that some kind of tax are added to the price.
2) How do you deal with people outside of Florida or out of the US?
3) What is the legal ground for this? I know that in Texas, it's in the law, what about Florida?

The main problem with this change is that all the sudden most prices just rose by 16%...

A:It is in the signup as of now. It is also being added to the TOS/AUP

2) How do you deal with people outside of Florida or out of the US?
A:It's all the same.

3) What is the legal ground for this? I know that in Texas, it's in the law, what about Florida?
A: We pay 6% on every thing that comes in. We are only passing this cost on to the end user.

The main problem with this change is that all the sudden most prices just rose by 16%...

A: They only went up 6% not 16%. This was anther reason for the price drop and on resellers and makes up for the sales tax.

Remember there is only 2 things in life you must do.
Pay taxes and Die.. I know both of them suck..

6% yeah =)

I was wondering because detaxing exists in the US, so you should be able to sell products for export without taxes.
Most of the time, the taxes you pay have no incidence on the taxes you collect. They are two different things. The 6% is only due to the authorities when you collect them. This is how it works in Europe and in many other countries.

So maybe you should add the 6% in your price and get rid of the taxes?

I’ve gone though the taxation laws for Florida via the online information pages and it seems a bit of a grey area to me.
It appears that ‘Sales’ tax may be levied for the use of rental equipment, a category of which computers do fall into, hence they attract tax.
However as we are ‘not’ renting any equipment or a dedicated ‘server’, and are only accessing and utilising the ‘use’ of someone else’s resources (…Resellers) then I can find no reference to the taxes being applicable.
Obviously as a non-Florida resident – I’m certainly no expert.

Regardless of it being right or wrong – I don’t like the idea of changes to TOS without being emailed them. Obviously it’s your prerogative to do so, should you want to, just as it’s ours to decide if we can live with them or not.
It would be nice to know of ‘any’ changes without having to read this forum / check the web site.

We are planning to get the news letter out we are just waiting for every thing to be done. Here is a short list of every thing going in to the news letter.

1. All accounts now have a 6% sales tax.
2. Change on plans to save about $10 to $20 on the account plus the added bandwidth. This more then makes up for the 6% sales tax.
3. Network upgrade for our 2 new Juniper M5 routers going in today as it was delayed.. Should not make any downtime. But just to let every one know. To bring network up to a full 2.45GB per SEC.
4.IRC Bot problem on servers. This will also be an update to the TOS/AUP to make it 100% clear if you are seen running an IRC bot your account can and will be deleted.

I know the tax part really sucks but i have made up for by far with the price cut on some resellers and then added 10GB more of bandwidth or more.. The bandwidth alown is about $22.00 at the reseller cost if they had to pay for it.. Tax is must less then this.. So really your coming out on the good end..

The news letter with more info should be out today.

I hope Vortech is not getting me wrong.
I love the $8.22 price decrease and the bandwidth extension. (and I can't wait for Hsphere to updgrade to disk usage...)

I just hope you guys won't get into trouble for adding taxes to customers who shouldn't pay taxes.

I know it kind of sucks but i was told by the CPA for Vortech Inc. it needed to be done.. So i take here word since she does all of Vortech, Inc.'s taxes.. hehe
