Lightbulb Policy on Backups

Hi,

What is the policy with backups? ie. what gets backed up (databases, documents, etc..) and how often etc... I got burned quite badly very recently with a mysql database so I am quite neurotic about this. Thanks in advance guys (and girls, Vixen )

Cheers,

All of the above, and yes. But by stretching the truth i mean more in the ways of legitimate archiving. Not sure i've ever met a geek that is 100% legal.

I have CDs for all my mp3's, if that is what you are implying, and I don't share them either!

Not all mp3s are illegal ya know. Besides it isn't just geeks that are not 100% legal(whatever that means). According to an interesting news story I saw people break at least 1 federal electronic copyright etc... law everyday and may not have a clue. Partly because the laws are screwy. I am so unfortunate to live in 1 of only 2 states(maryland is other) that make eulas 100% binding no matter what they say.(All of this would have to be argued in court of course) In other words I can say anything electronically and if the predefined action which you perform (shows you agree with it) it is binding. I have had development IDE's w/ appended sections saying they can come to your location and inspect whenever they like to make sure you are complying. How invasive. Lot's of devs got very upset. Just ain't so simple. Right and wrong aren't necessarily legal
