Customers unable to reach Vortech-hosted sites.
A massive Road Runner outage is currently affecting customers trying to get to sites you may have hosted here at Vortech. This is something that is entirely beyond our control and has nothing to do with our network status or backbone providers. The problem exists at the Road Runner network level and affects customers using their network's connections for residential and commercial-level broadband Internet access.
Per the Road Runner support website at 2:39a ET, the affected U.S. states currently reported are:
California, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Ohio
If you have customers contacting you about anything that sounds like this, *please verify* whether or not they are a Road Runner customer in the mentioned states above before you contact us or open a support ticket regarding website or email connectivity issues.
I'm getting lots and lots of calls this morning regarding the following issue, so I wanted to make a post here to reach as many of you ahead of time as possible.
EDIT: I originally reported Michigan as one of the states, but I have found it to actually be Mississippi, instead. Also, I've also noticed that customers using Earthlink over Cable, and/or AOL for Broadband (cable only) customers in the same states are affected if they use Bright House Networks, Time Warner Cable or any other affected cable providers in the same affected states above.
