Hello,

We are working on the CPPGSQL database server. We are upgrading the OS. The control panel will be down for a while. We have three technicians working on this so we expect it to be resolved ASAP.

Thanks,

Aaron

We are working on a major OS update. This has run into a few snags and is taking longer than expected.

This has no effect on sites, But is keeping the CP offline for a while. We will bring it back up as soon as the update is completed successfully.

The cppgsql box is up right now. We will be taking itback down to fix some issues from last night. I will post here when we are ready to take the system back down. It should not be down for long, at least I hope since we have to do this ASAP.

Didn't see the email warning us about this one.

A customer that came in from out of town to my office to get some training on the control panel and I were trying to work last night and couldn't get in. It looked pretty bad on my part.

Please give us some warning before you do things like this.

Well I had no warning about what happend ether this AM. The techs were set to just do a small upgrade on cppgsql server from freeBSD 4.9 to 4.11 but when they did this they ran in to issues and the server would not boot back up.

They upgrade to FreeBSD 5.4 and it fixed the issue. Problem is FreeBSD 5.4 has issues with Intel xeon HT so I was planing to have them reinstall the box latter tonight to Redhat AS 4.

The techs here love and live by FreeBSD and want to give FreeBSD on this box a chance. So I am giving them 24 hours on HT off in the bois and then 24 to 48 hours with HT on. If not we will plan it out to make the switch for this box to redhat AS 4.

Right now there will be no more down time. The first down time was done because of scsi drive errors we saw in FreeBSD 4.9 in FreeBSD 5.4 we no longer see this issue. I am hoping we will not have to reinstall or do anything, but if we do I will be sure an email is sent and have a time planned for it.

I'm with your Tech Guys! FreeBSD is the way to go. If you have problems with the hardware configuation list for FreeBSD, I'd recommend taking a look at http://www.freebsdsystems.com/ and replicate their hardware specs.

This realloy is not his timing; it's pure and simple plain lady luck and fate playing tricks on you. Remember how Murphy's law seems to sink in the most opportune time.

This always happens with my domain registrar. Whenever i am customers place and trying to 'show' the panel, it returns server errors. Embarrassing stuff!

Looks like all back to normal. Anyone having problems with CP might as well take it up with a ticket.
