mosso.com
I know it's a bit rude to go discussing other hosting companies out there on VT's own forums, but I'm interested in the idea of mosso.com, and thought I'd open up the discussion.
For $100, you get a truely distributed hosting platform whose SLA promises 100% uptime, full windows/unix scripting support (both on the same site!), end-user support as a cheap add-on, and -get this- 80GB and 2TB of transfer.
I have to say, that sounds awesome. But 1) their control panel was built in-house and is a little low on features. 2) they've only been around for a few months, so the track record is short. But they're a Rackspace company and are using their network so at least that's rock solid.
I have a long relationship with VT, so I'm not about to jump ship, but I have to be completely honest when I say I'm considering moving my dedicated server to this platform. The idea of having access to a distributed and fully-scalable hosting platform just like google's is pretty darn appealing. Is this something that VT may offer someday?
