Mail 6 will not come back up after the daily cycle tests, I am headed to the data center to diagnose and hopefully bring it right back online. I will update this as soon as I have more details or hopefully have it back online.

mail6 has been down for a few hours now. would appreciate a clearer picture on what the issue is and how long it will take.

Scanning the drives, do not see any evidence of hardware failure as of yet, just heavy file fragmentation (normal) and a few errors in the file system causing the machine to hang on restart. Hope to have it back up soon, will keep you posted as I find out more information.

yes, both mail8 and mail6 are down for little our 1hr now.

mail 6 is 50% finished should be back soon.

It took about 4 hours to reach 50% - so, we probably looking at about another 4 hours of downtime.
Josh- Do you think mail6 also need a drive replacement? MAIL6 has a very bad history.

Yesterday: A lot of compliants for all day mail9 downtime
Today: All morning without Mail6 and control panels: More compliants

What is happening to Vortech?. Something is wrong.
Was not like now 2-3 years ago.

It can't be figured that way

It would be more accurate if you broke it down like this.
monitor software shows failure, check and attempt remote access. attempts fail, remote reboot, wait for response, 2x fail. drive to data center and access machine, remove
= one hour 20 minutes.
run tests 1hour
fix boot problem 20 minutes

see we're at 2 hours 45 minutes before I start the 4 part scans and error corrections that we were half way through when I posted. It's almost finished now, so cross your fingers and all going well with this scan we should be online in a few minutes.

we are now live. Mail 6 lives. Please go easy on it for a few minutes and let it catch up as I am sure it's a bit behind being offline for 4.5 hours.
