Question Imap Outlook 2000 Question

Been using 2 PCs using Outlook 2000 to connect to the same IMAP account to answer emails. It works great. However, when I use the 3rd PC to connect the the same IMAP account, Errors would occur:
Failed to update Header
The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server.

I have changed my timeout setting to 5 minutes. still the same error.

does the mail server limit 2 connections per imap account ? or the mail server limit 2 connections per IP ? Since all 3 PCs are using the same IP.

Any Suggestions ?
Thanx

I wasn't aware that we supported IMAP. I have a client who would be interested in using this. It would be great if someone could clarify this for us.

Yes the mail servers use imap, however the email on them is not backed up in any way.

Thanks Silverbug. What are the implications of this? Is the mail deleted on a schedule? For web mail do you need to place the mail in the imap folders to save them? I wouldn't think people would think of a shared mail server as a backup for years of mail. IMAP is just a nice way to sync mail between multiple locations.

Zoren,
You would think. However, many people keep everything going way back. I personally have mail going back to 97 in some cases, but not on the servers...archived. Don't underestimate how much people will store so make it a point to let them know they are paying for it. It could eat up some space. Also you can remove mail from server, but some people don't do this.

blackout2,
It would seem that there is a connection limit. I do not know what that limit is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was only one or two. Something that can help is to turn off the automatic mailbox checking in Outlook or let it check less frequently.
