Looking for BLOG script
I am looking for a BLOG script that I can use for my clients. Has anyone had success with any of the scripts out there?
I tried UBlog & ForestBlog, and both failed on my Vortech server (perhaps they failed due to a simple problem, but I really don't want to have to debug the installation). Preferably, I want something that is designed for ASP on Windows servers with an MSSQL database backend. The script doesn't have to be free - $25 to $75 could be fine. Thank you for your recommendations. Lev |

Being an ASP developer, I tried to find a good blog but to no avail. I finally settled on MovableType. It does take a little effort but it is probably the best out there. They also offer a free license for personal use.

There just aren't any good asp blogs out there. awen was working on one but I think he put it down for a while. webwizguide.info has a journal app that's kind of a light single user blog.
I've installed Movabletype, Blogger, and wordpress on windows here. Movable type is tricky, you'd need to do a search to find posts here about installing on windows as there's a couple of additional config changes required to make it work. Blogger's OK but it phones home and takes you to blogger.com to view some things - like your profile. Wordpress is about the easiest to install (5 min) and is pretty easy to mod the look and feel through css. For all of them, you don't really need to know any php. "Search Engine Friendly" urls will only work on unix boxes. Some people make a separate subdomain on a unix box to host their blog although the domain itself is on windows. I've kind of settled on Wordpress for the clients due to the speed of install. I also downloaded a couple of dozen skins for it that are easily copied to the clients skin dir so they can pick one that suits them.
