2 Checkout Option

We are looking at 2checkout as another option for overseas customers that do not like to verify by Fax or upload. 2Checkout has a very good system for fraud checking US and overseas customers. Has anyone used them with H-Sphere and had good success with them.

I would like to hear good and bad things if you can. Thanks.

Yes i use them all the time.

Suspected sales are cancled and an email is sent to both parties requesting further details, usually it is to Fax ID and bank/card statement to them. They then proccess the payment.

Suspected sales are those whose IP address and Card details might not match but not always, some country IP's are treated more suspicious than other.

But yes it should be better that forcing legitimate card holders from faxing within 24hrs....

So they ask people to fax just like we do? I think it will be a good option for overseas customers. We will see. I signed up and testing it out.

I've been using 2checkout for a couple of years now, but not with hshpere. Good system but sloooow on support. On average it has taken 3 days to get a response from there ticket system.

Now that doesn't sound good. 3 days?? I can get in touch with our merchant account 24/7/365.

Just beware theres a bug in the current version of HSphere thats causing a few issues for 2Checkout signups should be fixed next patch, is causing blank return screens from the payments etc

2Checkout's support can be slow, but fortunately in the last 2.5 years I've only had one occasion to even want to try get hold of them, they respond much quicker to phone than they do trouble tickets as well.

Generally speaking their system works fairly well.

Hi

Why can't you come up with PAYPAL Option.

It will be excellent for many overseas customers

Problem with Paypal is theres very little fraud verification done, thats why there's so many horror stories about paypal. 2Checkout.com have a dedicated fraud team who verify any transaction which comes back looking possibly suspicious before releasing the funds to the merchant.

One problem with 2checkout and paypal is that customers have to manually make their payment each month too, which invariably means you get a few more slow payers than if you were debiting their CC directly via auth.net or similar realtime payment gateway.

As Brangwyn said thats why we wanted to give 2checkout an option. We really only want and need it for overseas customers. Our current CC account is MUCH cheaper, but some people don't like to verify. So giving them the option of 2 checkout should help.

Paypal does nothing really to verify accounts and my self hate paypal after many issues with them, so I would never used them for my company.

I use 2 checkout from Australia and they have phone my clients and spoken to them but not asked for faxes or anything that would be considered intrusive...

I use their system for any online payments.

Their support is very slow (2 days is a good response for them...) but their system works well and is very cheap and easy to administer...

And it supports AU currency - YAY!

Brangwyn - I use it for recurring payments - it works okay for this too...

2CO works well for our recurring billing and I have never had a single account pass their fraud check that shouldn't have. They have called and verified with several of my cusomers (on the first order).

For support, I have only called them once and that was taken care of farily quick.

My biggest problem with there service is that in the end, you have to have add each and every item to their shopping cart. You can't just throw a value at it and be done with it.

I don't have anything in the 2Co Shopping cart, HSphere doesn't actually need it, though I'm not using "recurring" either, let the CP send them out the payment link .. some are slow payers becuase of this, but I just have HSphere send them nasty letters threatening to suspend them if they're more than 7 days overdue and for most that gets them paying fairly quickly.

I should mention that I don't use it with HSphere, I can't actually remember why that is - maybe was because my HSphere is in AU dollars or something, or that it didn't work when I initially tried, etc. Will have to look into that again.

mfennel: you can just throw a dollar amount at it with a description and charge people that way, without setting up any products. But if you want recurring, you'll have to set products up in the system.

I should say they were very slow to implement their last upgrade and I'm still not sure that has been fully implemented yet...

Try something like:
https://www2.2checkout.com/2co/buyer/
purchase?sid=YOUR_2_CO_ID&
cart_order_id=PRODUCT_DESCRIPTION&
total=YOUR_PRODUCT_PRICE
