It's up now, it was down to do the final restart of apache rebuilt along with php 4.11. We are watching and waiting now to see if apache core dumps right before a crash. If so we have tried everything we can with 5.3. We have the 4.11 drive ready to now if needed.

We would really like to know what is causing this since we run 5.3 on other non-web servers and works great. So it's leading us to think apache.

Are things changing at vortech for the worse? I really liked you guys, but now there is never anyone picking up the phone for either billing, sales or support.
Is phone service still available? If not, why?

Is this all because of Unix16 - or is this the norm from now on. Call + leave voice mail and expect call back.

Please clarify.

Hmm sales is not in until 10am or so, did you leave a message?

unix16 has been super stable since yesterday and support is not really all that busy today, I have not heard the phone ring but once since I got in around 10:15 AM.

I did leave a message for billing at 10:06 in EST. No call back yet.

I have not been able to get through voice support, sales or billing for about 3 weeks now, is that simply bad luck?

that's pretty unfair man. we're lucky to have a host that even lists a phone number. and though unix16 is annoying, they've worked dilligently to get it back up.

Maybe it came through weird, but I did not mean to be annoying, just simple was asking if anything has changed? Like people left, people in training, too many calls, etc. Things happen.

I do like the post a lot. I do like the fact that they were on top of the issue.

I was just curious about the phones being always voicemail.

Seriously did not mean to offend anyone.

I guess we are off track here with this tread being unix16, so thats it.

Well we do get busy at times, and if you call right at 10am billing is it's busiest then because they are not there 24/7 of course. Did you get ahold of someone?

If you leave a message we will for sure call you back, be it sales, billing or support.

Wouldn't it be simpler to move everyone to another box then to work on unix16 for this long.

The cost alone in tech time, support time anwering emails and board messages, and the lost business from unix16 issues could have paid for a new server by now. Hell the amount of money I lost in business for all the downtime I could have bought you a new server.... Is it not possible that it's just time to junk that box?
