During the Hardrive upgrade this AM a reboot caused an extended FSCK on unix14. The FSCK is still running and I will update this once it is done and the server is back up.

Hello again,
The FSCK has munged a lot of data. We are currently pulling good coppies of that data from the backup machines.

Do we have an estimated time to pass along to customers? Have about 15 sites presently down and a couple are getting a little excited,

so I would like to get them in the chill mode.

We are a little past 25% restored and flying on a gigE line at the moment.

Up to 40% and still chuging along. We are working on gettign apache up now so that the sites that have already been restored will be available.

It's now 8 hours since the server first went down. I see that apache is up, but that doesn't help as long as private nameservers doesn't resolve.

customer say's "why is my site down all the time" i said what r u talking about he said y just about a mth ago it was- I had no answer execpt to say this is not the only server we had and we would be thinking about moving you. sorry sorry soryy, I'm getting realy tired of it. private nameservers?? Name servers should have nothing to do with unix14 being down. Apache is up so if the site has been moved back over it should start to come up.

Alright, so the word is that the backups are being loaded at 8 this morning (3 hours ago) it was at 25%... why is it that you are unable to give an eta? Seems like a simple enough math problem.

As ADMIN said,
Apache is up again. We have more than half of the domains back on the server and working, the rest are being moved over to it.
