I think John at least already has a good handle on that.

Just took another look at some satelite images though (http://www.hurricaneadvisories.com/tropsat.html, specifically the West Atlantic/Caribbean loops), and it actually kind of looks like Frances is heading straight north now. I'm no meteorologist, so I could very well be misunderstanding what I'm seeing, but I'm holding out some hope that we may be seeing a significant turn in the storm's course.

I'm also hopeful that whoever said something about things happening in three's didn't jinx Florida. If you look at the Eastern Atlantic loops on the site above, you'll unfortunately see yet another storm brewing, specifically tropical storm Ivan. Just the name alone definitely sounds scarier than Charley and Frances, so hopefully it's following a different track, or even better, simply disipates altogether.

By the way, I believe I read somewhere that there haven't been two major hurricanes to hit the US in the same year since 1915, and they at least hit different locations. I could make a joke about Bush's opinions on climate change, but Florida in specific is probably not a good place to make President jokes, right?

Seriously though, good luck to the Vortech folks who are sticking around, and remember that we'd rather know you're safe than taking chances just to answer a couple more support tickets.

From what they say at CNN, It looks like is coming your way Mat, I hope your house is Hurricane ready or go somewhere safe
Good Luck

Exclamation Have any Storm Photos yet?

Not to plug an ad here, but we had a new site go on-line this week that would REALLY like to have any storm photos anybody can get. It deals with Fire, Rescue and Weather Photos and it's a non-profit site too.

It will be on-line as long as the servers in Orlando don't flood out.

If you search the forums, atlantic, you'll see posts with pictures from Hurricane Charley (if you haven't seen those yet).

I was wondering who was going to do it.

Actually, he's not DC is probably the sturdiest building any of us could go to! I might have gone there too, but don't wanna be stuck with 2 small kids in the little office we have there

I live in Titusville, on the east coast about 45 miles south of Matt. It was either the frying pan or the fire. We have no idea whether anyone will be able to get in or out of the DC until Tuesday.

The datacentre is still getting power from the grid and conditions have been fairly mild with the exception of some brief but nasty squalls from two of the outer bands.

That's what I was thinking. That building was built to take it.
