What happens when I Suspend an account?
Hi - Looks like I need to drop one of my customers for not paying their bill...
So, what happens when I Suspend an account? Do the site visitors see any sort of generic "Account not active" page? Do the Web files get deleted immediately? Can the account user still access their FTP folders, e-mail, etc.? Aside from the above technical question, I'm also curious about whether anyone bothers to go the collection route against delinquent accounts? I'm more inclined to just drop the bastard and move on... but maybe the collection process isn't as difficult as I'm suspecting? |

When you suspend the account, everything remains in the account until you actually go in and delete everything.
A generic Account Suspended page should show. As for collections, we send people to collection agencies on a regular basis. All in all though, the process is pretty simple. You would have to sign an agreement with an agency, give them the information and they get a percentage of what they collect. If they don't collect, they don't get paid.

can they still get into their e-mail? I'm just suspicious that the guy is going to linger around and exploit the resources until I've finally removed everything...

best bet is to suspend it and try to log into one of their accounts - I would create a new 'test' email address so that you aren't accused of snooping, but that should tell you right off whether or not they're completely locked out.
My guess (since I haven't yet had to suspend anyone) is that when you cut an account off, they are completely out until you reinstate the account. |

I'm not sure about email, but I know mssql can still be accessed... I had a client who did not pay and I thought I could hold their data "hostage" no such luck. He informed me he was able to login via EPM and download the data...

you could just change the passwords to the email accounts, and then at least they will still have their email collected but wont be able to access it. The other thing you can tell them is that, if they dont payup before 30days is up the server is going to start automaticaly deleting email and they wont receive any of it.
