09/02/2003: mail1,mail2
A user on mail2 got mailbombed, and the sobig virus flooded mail1. The issues on the machines are now clear and all the queues are back down to normal.
No legitimate mail was lost, only the two types mentioned above. A new patch has been added to qmail that stops executable attachments before they enter the queue. This will reduce the load on the machines since the executable detection was being done by a perl script before, and now it is done in the smptd program itself. This means a user will receive an instant reject message rather than the email falling into nothingness

Mail Delays
I am getting between an hour and two hour delay today...is this related?
