Vortech, Inc. is currently offering a Full Time Technical position with our Web Hosting operation based in Orlando, Florida. Applicants' resume should include demonstrated proficiency with Unix/Linux/FreeBSD, networks, IP, SMTP, H-Sphere from Psoft.net and DNS. Knowledge of Windows 2000 Server, IIS, MS SQL and Cold Fusion is a plus. Certifications are not required. Assisting in debugging customer web sites will require a working knowledge of web technologies beyond that of just html.

We currently have an opening for one (1) Unix technician.

The following requirements must be met by the technician:

Control Panel Support - H-Sphere and CPanel
Tech Support, Phone Support
FreeBSD, RedHat


**Must be atleast 21 years of age.
**Must live in the Orlando area.
**Must be able to work unsupervised.
**Must have good time management skills.
**Must be available to work Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 6pm
**Must have reliable transportation.
**Must be able to work on call if needed.

Salary will be based on experience and working knowledge.

Sorry but we are not offering moving assistance at this time. That is why we are seeking someone already in the area. Alan is our Cisco specialist in house. And we luv him.

I am curious now. Where are you located??

Right now I am in Minnesota. I have family in and around Orlando so it would not take much to get me down there. I worked for Bestbuy.com for three years and got laid off like a year ago so I've been taking it easy trying things here and there but now its time to move on and find another job.

My Linux experience is mostly with Red hat 7.x - 8.x but I have worked with FreeBSD and Cobalt (remotely). I am interested in applying for the job. When is the deadline for resumes and applications? I want to look around down there for housing etc...

Send lindsey your resume I should get some time to look at it today or tomorrow I hope with this move and now needing anther tech is becoming no fun fast..


BTW this job is open to any one here that thinks they can cut it..

You do have an edge over any one else trying for the job as you already know H-Sphere and/or cpanel..
