Question Adding additional 'Reseller' plans.

Just curious………

How does the ‘Add Account’ feature work in the ‘reseller’ control panel? Obviously it adds another account to that of which I already have – but how?
i.e. I presently use a ‘Neo’ plan, but if I ran out of resources and thought it a better option to buy another ‘Neo’ plan rather than pay ‘over charges’ if this possible…….. and if so how does it work?
Would I be able to setup an additional ‘System Plan’ and possibly create some additional names servers….etc……. are the resources ‘shared’ with those of my existing plan?

Anyone doing / done this …. Or able to advice me further?

Hey Garreg

Great men thinks alike...

I am just thinking about it since past few days, and you have asked it.

I have also a NEO plan, and if I want to signup for another NEO or ZION, is it possible??

If I buy that second plan for one of my friend, will he know about Matrix/Vortech??

Is there any customization or non branding possible for the second plan, that I will buy.

Waiting for the reply, from anybody or BRAD!!

Theoretically yes you could do this, HOWEVER.. you would have to use different nameservers and keep everyone basically separate. And no,, you could not sell a Neo plan to someone and have them not know about Vortech, as we would bill them directly as we do you right now.

OK!! Craig

Hi Craig,

OK!! I got your answer.

Now, If I want more diskspace then what should I do??

I have NEO now and getting 25GB space. If I upgrade it to ZION, I would get 3GB. But what if I need more, say 6-10GB?? If I buy according to your $0.05/GB, it will be ridiculous to every body like me.

PLEASE HELP!!

I think you have GB and MB and Bandwdith and Disk Space confused a little...

Disk Space is $0.05 per MB..
Bandwidth is $2.50 per GB

Big difference,,LOL..

Craig!!!

Sorry,

I have typed G instead of M.

That's why I have wrote $0.05/GB.

I know it is $0.05/MB.

So, what is the solution, if I need say 6-10 GB in my plan??

That is alot of space,, If I were you, I would either get multiple Zion plans or seriously consider getting a dedicated server.

Craig:

I'm a bit confused..................
Quote:

The name servers is not a problem - but what do you mean by keep everyone seperate....

Perhaps this may help better explain my thoughts:

This is what I have -

'Neo' plan:

ns.MyDomain.net
ns1.MyDomain.net
with a 'windows' service plan.

can I add:
'Neo' plan'
ns2.MyDomain.net
ns3.MyDomain.net
with a 'unix' service plan

Obviously my billing will be unified and cover the both plans.... but will the rest of my services - i.e
Will my CP show a total of -

Band width - 80 GB ( 40 + 40)
Disk Space - 5 GB (2.5 +2.5)
etc....etc....

Dedicated Server

Hi Craig,

Is it possible to get ONE dedicated server, and used it for CP, MySQL, PgSQL, MSSQL, MAIL, and Web space.

SWAGATO

Note: If I want to setup all these, should I require more than ONE server?? If so, how many??

Any details on this? I would think once you get beyond a zion you need options before jumping to a dedicated server. The overages could put you out otherwise

Hello guys,

I dont think you see what Craig is saying. If you go beyond the largest plan that is offered then you either get multiples of that plan or move to a dedicated server.

If things are done correctly then the expense of a DS would be covered by your clients.

Actually I think most do. I was just commenting on the fact that we need to have details so that we can plan accordingly. The way the accts are set up here I don't think anybody wants to force overages. Wouldn't make any sense. The idea is to limit this and upgrade. From what I have seen I understand we can get multiple accts, but am fuzzy on details. Like accounting, billing and nameservers Obviously if you arbitrarily use space and don't charge accordingly then you are gonna have problems, but I don't think space managment or whether to goto a ds or not is what most of us wanted to know on this thread.

From the way craig sounded you had totally diff service domains w/ nameservers based on that. Then how resources were allocated and billing seemed unclear. So care to elaborate?

Right, if we create a second reseller account in addition to the one we have already, what if anything is shared between the two? What is different/separate? Would we still have access to search our entire customer base or would those be separate also?

It seems to me like this would be the hard way. It makes more sense to have a single account and just pay the overages, or go with a dedicated server. The disk overage charges, however seem pretty high at this point. I would be happy to pay $0.05/MB of actual used space, but if we're going to continue to pay for allocated space whether used or not, the $0.05/MB is too high. Not much of an upgrade path, considering the largest plan at Matrix is only 3GB.

Matrix? What are your thoughts on this?

Does anyone from Matrix have any ideas about this? I would like to know that Matrix is going to be able to grow with me as I get more and more clients. I'm finding it hard to justify paying $0.05/MB overage for space I'm simply allocating and not using.

Idea 1:
I think the easiest thing would be for Matrix to simply lower the disk overage price, since it's just for allocated space. Hard drive space is dirt cheap right now, and my clients are using only a small fraction of the space allocated to them.

Idea 2:
Come up with higher-end plans that offer more disk space at a better price than the $0.05/MB overage (although when we outgrow the biggest plan we'll run into the same issue we have now).

Idea 3:
Do you or can you offer a dedicated managed HSphere server? If the price was right this could be a nice option as well. Can our existing accounts be easily moved to a dedicated server?

Can someone take a look at this and let us all know what kind of upgrade path Matrix has to offer us as we grow as resellers? There have been a few bumps since I've become a customer but overall I am very happy and would like to be able to stay a Matrix customer for a long time to come.

Thank you,

Adam
