bfriended, this has only been going THREE DAYS by COX, that is why it is just happening, there are forum post all over the internet about it, I KNOW, i READ them!

Sorry, if I sound a little preturbed, I AM, this is new, this is what is called Port 25 blocking, MSN, Comcast/Cox are all doing it now, and people are pissed about it, you happened to hit a low level tech that did not know thier new policy, you need to call back.

Brian, it is more the fact that you dont believe me when I tell you waht the problem is tha tis getting to me, even after I give you the URL to cox's policy that they just put in there.

I will get over it though.

BTw, thak you for the edit, I see it now.

(I would like to think that I am trusted enough here to not have resellers, or anyone, think I am lying to them, as I am not and if I ever do, I hope you will all whip me really bad, OK? Sure I miss deadlines; self imposed ones, but I don't downright lie)

OK, I am waiting in line online to talk to them now. As a precaution, I did insert their SMTP in, and I get the same error. I will let you know what they say. I am 52nd in line. LOL

Stephen

You are a genius, and Cox's tech guys are idiots! It took 4 phone calls, and 2 online sessions, and they kept blaming your company.

It took me pointing one of my designers to your message above, and then figuring out that cox has the outgoing SMTP wrong on their page. it was saying to use the pop.west.cox.net for outgoing, instead of smtp.west.cox.net.

I can now send emails from outlook again.

I truly appreciate your help. I am sorry that my experience with cox caused me not to trust your answer.

bfriended,

Thanks, sorry cox doesn't even know what they are doing. To many companies like that today. I wish I could be CEO of them all, they would be profitable and growing, but support dept would hate me, they would actually have to work instead of sitting there looking at porn all day on the high speed internet I would be in charge of buying. Maybe I am very young, but I am of the old school, but you have to earn your money, you cant site there playing games or viewing porn and call it work, and if you "dont work you dont eat" as the old adage goes.

(just a liltte rant on business, and the state of the workforce today!)
