That looks good, I am guessing then that it is the DNS on thaiwebpro.com that is the problem now, as DNSREPORT gave a severe warning about "stealth dns" servers and that they could cause problems.

if so, would it be simple to delet my domain servers (again) and cahnge them to DNS0 & DNS1 respectively and resubmit? rather than have to manually change 60 or so domains.?

Yes, there is a very serious difference. Also, we probably need to move this to a more obvious thread so that it will be better documented via the search if someone else need to reference back to this in the future, I am leaving for a bit but will be back to help, and on MSN messenger if you want to chat live.

David, I would NOT recommend doing that as there are obviously some also pointing to just ns/1 and not dns0 and dns1, so you would then take them down as well, the best bet is the CNAME for them, and pray it works correctly. OR, go and change all of them to one uniform set of DNS servers, wheter that be ns/1 or dns0/1

Let me briefly explain why you did not get a "firm" answer on the ns/dns naming issue. As far as Vortech/Matrix is concerned you could have DNS server named, snot.yourservicedomain.com and fart.yourservicedomain.com, they really don't matter what you name them, what matters is that all of the domains that you are hosting is pointing to THEM, if you named them snot and fart, ns and ns1 would not work. That is a highly simplified reasoning there, sorry if i offended anyone saying FART; have a great day anyway.

thats what my underestranding was a few month agao....but when i got the email from Matrix saying follow "exactly" the instructiion to delete and re-submitt my name servers i didnt edited the ns to dns0.

Anyway, as more are on DNS0 & DNS1 I have done the resubmit again and will go in for the 4th time to change the .co.th domain

i wonder if the email will magically re-appaer.

thx for the help and i dont mind the snot or fart stuff :-)

Hi david sorry to pop in but did you ever think of emailing Matrix and ask them how they want it done? We all mean well here but Matrix is the service provider and they are the ones who know how. Stephen is a nice guy he helped me to but if Matrix can get your money I'm sure they can help you with this "resubmiting for 4 times I think is to much" after all you are the costumer.
Good luck
Tony

Just to be a little pedantic many registrys wont allow nameservers that dont start with NS or DNS so your two examples there Landiserve might not be the best of choices !

Brangwyn, ok sorry, I was just saying aliases can be anything, personally i stick with the vortech defaults of ns and ns1.

I was told that they could be anything but HSphere might have some problems. That was good enough reason for me

yeah like I said I was just being pedantic I guess really.

It is important to remember though (and it may even be in an RFC I haven't looked that far into it) but most of the registrars I've encountered will not accept nameserver entries that don't start with NS or DNS.

Please hold:

65.57.225.236
65.57.225.168

I thought I had fixed this when the first advise came out, and they are listed correctly in my control panel, but my registrar did not update the IP's, so I requested the update again....Thanks!
