Shared DNS IP hold..

Can an administrator verify this?

65.57.229.234

because another reseller has already registered the shared DNSs IPs in NICAr, and it's impossible to register the same IPs to other host

The New Zealand registrar (www.domainz.net.nz) will not allow the nameserver ip numbers to be changed for any customers domain name nameservers, giving this message....

"Error: Less than 2 servers responded as being authorative for securicare.co.nz."

Could you tell me what this implies please.

Never seen that error before.. If your putting 2 name servers in not sure what that message means.. Kind of odd.. You may want to email them and see..

thanks Brad, been on the phone with them and they've sorted it out manually.... their system is known as somewhat of a white elephant here in NZ.
Still got to get one more customer to change his domain details with them, then i'll let you know to free up the two ip's you're holding for me.

for a few more days, I submitted the change, but I'm not the one to confirm it (You'd think the tech contact would be the one to make these changes, not the admin? but they want to confirm with the admin, who is really slow in reading his emails, took me two weeks to set this up initially.. sigh)

What about people who have domain servers as ns1. and ns2. will that be a problem to switch.

laythalissa, doesn't matter what they are called, its just a name (mine are ns and ns1, they could equally be called poo and cough). As long as you have followed Admins advice in setting them in the CP you can call them anything, hope that helps...

Tony ... those are the correct new shared nameservers. Unless you have an issue such as those described in other posts, you should be all set.

I will submit a TT to make sure you get this. I thought everything had switched over automatically because I am at Register.com, but when I run some network tools everything is all screwed up and the old IPs are still attached to my account.
