Less uptime than usual.
What's going on with the servers lately?
They are going down almost daily. Will we go through the same problems as in August/September? |

NS and CP have had a few problems the last 2 days but we are getting them fixed today.. We ran in to a problem no one here or Psoft has every seen.. FreeBSD will not handle more then 512 IPs on one server..
So we are having to add 2 more servers just to get more IPs for DNS stuff.. Every time the CP tried to add anther IP it was crashing NS servers.

OK, so when the NS crashes, our sites become unreachable. Sounds logical...
Thanks for the info. |

Some times NS2 seems to be fine but as every one know DNS just does not seem to work the way it should.. DNS should fail over to NS2 and start working off that one just never seems to happen.. So we are just going to add 2 new DNS server running on RedHat that does not have the IP limit like we ran into on FreeBSD..

Well this explains a few things. Was trying to add two new sites and BAM, everything starts throwing out Internal server errors like free Xmas candy!!
Any estimate on time to live? I have only five days left to transfer some sites. Should I take them elsewhere for now? P.S. We have been having some problems with email on customer sites as well. Is this what is affecting them? I ask here because right now I am not able to submit a trouble ticket either.

Error 500 again, are you fixing them right now?
I have 2 customers interested in the cp system, but I cannot show it to them with confidence because of the problems we have =( |

The NS issue is supposed to be fixed but we still get many, many error 500 in the CP. Why is that?

I have not been seeing as many 500 errors in the CP now. Where are you getting these errors? The IPs are not removed from the servers yet ether. We have to wait for every ones DNS to change over before we can do that part.

I do see a lot of them, around 5 a day. Right when I posted there was a problem.
Since the new DNS is in place, new customers use the new IPs, some old customers left the old IPs. So it should not be related to those old NS hitting their limit. There must be some other problems. |

I didn't get any errors all day today since 10AM. Alan and i both were here doing support and were surprised at the great speed improvement of the CP.
