Authorization Code To Transfer Domain
I have a domain registered with namebargain.com ( the pitts ) and I want to transfer it to godaddy. I have transfered many in the past from namebargain to godaddy but now with godday's new control panel they require an authorization code from the current registrar before initiating the transfer; the old control panel didn't. I haven't been successful in getting namebargain to give me the code. My question is that is this autorization coded a godaddy thing or are all registrars now requiring it? I'm in a real mess becuase it's my business domain, namebargains credit cart processor won't take a valid credit card, and namebargain has no phone support and I never have been able to get anywhere with their extremly slow email support. I really would like to transfer it somewhere before it expires. Anyone know of a registrar that doesn't require the authorization code?

Yes, the EPP authorization code applies to .net and .com domains now as well as the other they had before This is an ICANN rule.
It looks like namebargains is nothing more than a reseller for register.com. You may want to contact register.com directly and ask them to email the code to the email address of record for the domain name. Or you could try to use your credentials at the register.com site to get your code: Register.com Login to your account at http://mydomain.register.com/. Within Account Management, click on a Domain Name to view its details. It's Auth Code is listed on the domain details page.

Namebargain.com is in fact owned by register.com and is their discount domain side of the business. However you can't get to a namebargain domain through register.com's control panel. In other words userid and password for namebargain won't work for register.com. The control panel for namebargain does not display the authorization code whereas the one for register.com does. I may call register.com and plead my case.
