If Vortech uses their monitoring software to determine server problems, then according to Nagios, MSSQL5 has had a problem for two days now.

So, it's back up but we still can't create new DB's. This has been going on for almost a week. Recreating email accounts manually to move to a new host is looking like less of a pain when we can't create DB's and .net 2.0 is nowhere in sight.

There other issues that they also fail to deal with. The whole adding custom error docs is still a problem, yet they keep closing my tickets.

Any updates? Another business days is ending, and I'm dealing with angry customers who are going to leave our company. Can I forward those messages to Vortech for you to handle? It shouldn't take a week to setup a MSSQL database. Where's the sense of urgency to resolve this issue?

The servers at Vortech Hosting are very insecure. My server was constantly being hacked, and my system email address hijacked and used to distribute thousands of pieces of spam from my server. So what was Vortech Hosting's response? To blacklist my system email address and not even tell me they had blacklisted it!
Apparently they don't have a way to inform their customers when they penalize them by blacklisting their customers' system email addresses. When I explained that the spammer had lifted my email address from the POST, not my web-form, they responded that that's not their J-O-B to try to figure out how the spammer is getting into the server. Their J-O-B is to ignore their customers until their customers just GO AWAY. Which I did, but I had to walk away from the balance of two years pre-paid hosting service. I even left phone and email messages for Brad Pugh, the owner, but apparently crappy customer service is the company policy from the top down. |
