domain name management software

I would like to here what program(s) the resellers here use to manage their domain names?

Currently I am using an excel spreadsheet. This is getting a little clunky and doesn't send any warnings to me regarding billing. The domain renewal and the date that I bill the client do not always match so I have to keep the billing info seperate from the renewal data. I also bill different clients different amounts so you see there are lots of things to keep track of.

Any suggestions appreciated...............

I just use the admin area of bluerazor.com (godaddys members only club)
its all there, expiration dates, domain names, you can sort any way you like.

and you can set your own expiration date for a domain name.

If you have someone you use, as a registrar like opensrs, enom, bluerazor or bulkregister they all have the tools, but if your mixing and matching it makes it hard...also hsphere has a weak area w/ registrar support and how it works. That one is the most bothersome.

I noticed you use bluerazor. They sell everything including hosting. I guess that doesn't create a problem for you tho...that bothers me. Do they have a good security track record?

I'm a reseller for tucows (opensrs) and they do have good tools.

Sometimes I'll register a name for a client but won't start to charge for hosting until a few months later when the site is launched. Then after a couple of months the client wants to register some additional alias names for the site ......

What I do to prevent billing them several different times is renue the domain name(s) when they are due but wait till I can roll all services into one bill or credit card charge.

I recently had a dentist call me about once a month to have another domain alias for his site. He now has about 7 domain names for one website and the renewal for the domains are spread over several months.

have a look at resellone from ev1servers - http://www.resellone.net - domains under $7.00 - they have a version of the tucows system and means you don't to go through the hassle of setting up a tucows account and an api that should be working in the next little while - i think its a good system for resellers and also gives ssl certificates etc from geotrust at great prices and don't sell hosting - only disadvantage is that all whois shows resellone.net

Yeah, unfortunately. They have cut their own throats. Probably need to sell so much because they have trouble making money. BR doesn't sell hosting tho ...I use them, but you pay more. The irony there is they were a spin off of Alabanza. Good support lotsof tools.

IU also use enom with another hosting project I have. They still sell other products, but their api keeps your customers on your site.

Wow! This thread gets more off topic with each post!

I started this thread (in public area) to inquire about how others manage their domain names. I was hoping there may be some simple program available that I was not aware of. If the mod wants to move this to the reseller section that’s fine I just hope that I can find something better than the spreadsheet I’m currently using as I am managing more domains every day.

BTW... I have just started to move away from just alphabetical order. I now am using a shading color to fill the rows of each client’s group of names. I am also associating all names of a client under one profile.

Hi,
Try this one: managedomain.karmania.net.ir
i am a reseller of Directi for more than 4 years and i am really satisfied. the price is unbeatable and they offer a great Control Panel. all modifications is online and the most advantage is their MultiLevel reseller program.
you can have your own branding specifications (including URL, logo, pricing for the group of customers and resellers with the ability to set slabs etc.) for your account and you can also have UNLIMITED resellers with the same powers.
its really great, you can try it free, just sign up for a customer or reseller.
