Hey everyone. Im Back...

Forwards mail queue has hit an all time high. It is not blacklisted, but someone was spamming through it. I have stopped the spamming, but the queue was over 500K at 2AM. it is now at 200K and dropping but it is stil taking a while to deliver all fo this mail. So, Script mail and webmail will be somewhat delayed for a while as the mail queue is processed. Not mail has been lost, it is just taking a while for it to all get delivered.

It was at 263K at 5:27AM and now, at 6:17 is it at 234K so it is dropping at about 30K per hour. I imagine this will slow down the lower the queue gets and the further into Monday we get. But it is dropping nicely.

Further SPAM was detected on forward. The queue is now at 62K. No good mail will be lost.

What is the status now? I've sent an email via an ASP script, and it hasn't come in after 5 minutes (usually it takes about 10 seconds to arrive). Is there still a massive queue? If so, is there anything that can be done to work around this problem?

Thank you.

Script emails normally go direct from the server, not via the forward. Wait 10-15 minutes at least and then raise a trouble ticket if you genuinely think there's an issue (I'd suggest doing a few tests first though).

I already submitted a ticket. Yesterday, the emails sent via ASP code took about 8 hours to be delivered. Around 01:00 EST Tuesday they were still taking quite a while, but it looks like everything is almost back to normal.

Is that right? iirc I was informed once that all emails go through Forward...? It was during a blacklist event where Forward was blacklisted and my ASP script was sending emails (using localhost as smtp) that weren't arriving. Can someone clarify?

I too am having problems with emails being sent via ASP code. I had a script that has been working for several months now but is taking extremely long amounts of time to deliver since yesterday. Still that way as of now. The script is a timesheet submittal system that uses asp to send the mail. I was using cdonts but am now using aspmail with the same time lapse issues. Anyone else having this issue still?

Don't usually have delays with ASPEmail (using localhost as SMTP) unless there's something wrong server-side, or it's a one-off issue internet-wide.

You could try using CDOSYS, in case it makes a difference. If you're using the Queue function of ASPEmail, then there could be an issue with the proprietary server software it uses or how it's set up.

Impossible to say unless you find out exactly where the delay is happening on the network Try a ticket.

I think it's a case of some do, some dont. looking at headers in the past I've seen some going via the forward and some not
