over limit pricing

Hi There.
I have a question about overage pricing.
If I have a customer who is subscribed to an account that has a limit of 100 Mb and he is using 110 Mb but my Reseller plan is still way below its usage limit (e.g. using 200 Mb out of 1500 Mb), will I still be charged the per Mb rate by Matrix for the 10 Mb overage that my customer has?

Space is based on allocation NOT usage. Just to reiterate. Since we seem to be getting alot of people wondering why they were billed for overages.

OK - thanks for your replies.

So if I have a hosting account that I'm just managing several of my client's domains in (i.e. they don't need CP access), it makes the most sense to allocate the very minimum (say 5 Mb) to that account and let it go over the limit, since there is no consequence to letting it go over the limit, and the allocation for my reseller account stays as low as possible. Right?

Actually, that's a really great way to go about it. I never really considered that.

What I do for clients that don't need CP access is just create one plan (if they're windows or unix clients) and add their domains all into that one CP - this way you also save on how many CP's you dole out - plus you only have to login to one to manage all those domains.

I've been considering doing something very similar after a rather frustrating time with H-Sphere billing for overages that didn't even exist ! hehe kudos to Lindsey though for sorting most of that out

Better her than me. LoL I am the Modern Bill expert around here, as it was the only billing system we had for a looooooooooooong time. To me, it's simpler than Hsphere but to each their own. It's all about what you like.

I *DO* wish Modern Bill was as automated as Hsphere, in some respects (monthly rebills).
