server loads and uptime

Hello,
I am contemplating consolidating several websites that I manage into a single hosting plan. As a result, I started to look at your reseller plans. I have a few questions that I would appreciate if you could answer.

1. What is uptime of your mail servers? (this is extremely important for me) Do you take backups of the mail servers? Do they support imap?

2. How many accounts do you assign per server and what are typical loads on your servers? (I obviously mean top level accounts, not the resold accounts).

3. What are the typical loads/number of accounts on your mssql servers? How often are they backed up and what is their general uptime?

4. Uptime gurantee: Does your guarantee include all services? i.e. if the sql server is down while the site is up, is that counted as down time?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

I apologize for not catching this in the forums earlier.

1. What is uptime of your mail servers? (this is extremely important for me) Do you take backups of the mail servers? Do they support imap?

Uptime on our mail servers is very good. We rarely have mailserver downtime. In the event of an extreme incident the queue may get overloaded which may only delay some mail from getting through, but nothing would be lost.
Our mailservers do support IMAP but we do not backup the mail servers.

2. How many accounts do you assign per server and what are typical loads on your servers? (I obviously mean top level accounts, not the resold accounts).

The H-SPhere software prevents overloading by using a cluster system. The system automatically assigns new accounts to available servers based on load and server availability. We also add new servers every few weeks. Our servers are never overloaded and the number of users depends entirely on the size of the web content per user. You can see a current list of clustered machines here:
http://www.matrixreseller.com/servers/index.php

3. What are the typical loads/number of accounts on your mssql servers? How often are they backed up and what is their general uptime?

Again, number of accounts per machine depends on the size of currently existing accounts. H-SPhere automatically assigns the machine to the db user.
MsSQL servers run at approximately 1-5% CPU usage on average.

4. Uptime guarantee: Does your guarantee include all services? i.e. if the sql server is down while the site is up, is that counted as down time?

That would count toward the guarantee. Only the CP machines are not covered which does not affect any site or mail uptime. The uptime guarantee does not cover scheduled maintenance which we announce and discuss well ahead of time. See also our SLA:

no worries.

I had one last question, do you offer any type of shared ssl? This is not particularly important to me, but it would be quite useful.

Thanks again

We backup EVERY site on the servers and any config stuff we need to reset up boxes. We backup all mysql, mssql, pgsql we back up just about anything you can think of. Right now we have 2000GB+ of backup space and we are only at about 60 to 65 % of that.

We also keep a weekly copy of everything, so we have a day and a weekly backup of every single site, database and config used on our systems.

However, you need to keep your own backups because they aren't going to restore a backup for anything they didn't do w/o a charge. I believe it is in SLA.

Hi,

I am thinking about moving my site over and I am wondering whether you support MSSQL full-text index.
