Anyone else have the situation where you get a new customer who happens to be leaving a different Matrix reseller for you? You can't add the DNS zone in your control panel until the old reseller deletes it.
This creates a problem because usually the customer doesn't want to cancel their old account until the new one is up and running. I've got an even worse situation now where the old reseller won't delete the account, AND, has now suspended the customer's account because they want to leave. Of course this is all very unprofessional. Vortech won't help out because they say they won't interfere with resellers customers. There has got to be a better way to transfer customers between Matrix resellers so as to not cause any problems for the customer. Any ideas? |

Why exactly should we be competing against each other? I mean was this just a random chance that this happened or what? There are millions out there wanting websites and BAM, you hit one already a reseller client? And then that client is with a sour. biter reseller that won't let you activate the account? Whew that doesn't happen everyday.
I am dealing with a similar situation with a local ISP, they added the domain that left them to be blocked from recieving mail from the domain, and they blocked the site from their servers by "null routing" their DNS, this is very uncalled for. When I first had problems with their DNS they changed it, and then 48 hours later they modified the records back so that it would quit working, also very unproffesional, espeically when they (the people that own the domain) still use their dial-up internet services. |

gadget,
I fully understand your problem, but we can't just go deleteing account. I know who the reseller is, I just hope the do the right thing if the customer wants away from them for one reason or anther and deletes there account.. ![]()

Yeah... it doesn't happen every day. You know, even though two resellers may resell for the same company, the prices, customer service, location, etc can all be different.
In this case, the customer is the loser because now their domain is suspended, I can't add them, and so their site and email won't work!!! In this case, I will name the other reseller. His ID on this forum is HostDime and his site is www.hostdime.com . For now I won't post his chat transcript with the customer, but let's just say it was less than professional! Would it be worth buying a Cpanel account for them and other customers and moving them there? I assume they have DNS control at the registrar right? That should bypass HSphere "security"

They need Windows hosting
. Maybe I should reconsider getting a ded server so I can manage the DNS directly and not have to worry about this in the future??? |

gadget, it really would not matter you would still not be able to add them to the system fully even if you did DNS some where else..

Admin,
I have a question. This is on above said website: Are you a reseller of another hosting provider? No, while we don't have our own network and data center, we are not a reseller of another provider. We own our own servers. As a matter of fact we have resellers for us, if you are interested please see the resellers page. We are in the era where the internet is still booming and now is the time to get into it. Even if you just go to your local neighborhood am sure they will need web hosting. And our reseller plans are so in expensive there is a lot of room for profit. Umm, really? Dedicated servers are that tied in to reseller servers, do they have a dedicated central database? I guess that would make sense because you said having having control even with dedicated server would not work. This is just odd, and as said, highly unprofessional. |

If I, or anyone, had a dedicated server, or even a reseller account somewhere else, once the domain owner changed his domain at his registrar to point to the new host's DNS servers, there would be no problem at all. All of the DNS Zones would be handlded by the new server.
The reason we run into problems here is that my DNS servers are the same as the other guys. As far as that quote above, I guess landiserve is pointing out that hostdime says they own the servers when in fact they are reselling Matrix's service. |

Oh ok, I thought he was talking about us.. LoL.. That makes sense now..
Yes if you had your own servers yes you could move them to them. H-Sphere will support VPS here soon I think on both windows and unix. This may or may not help this problem as I think you would still use our DNS. But they do also have plans to add ded. servers as well now that may fix this problem as you could have your own servers for your clients if you wanted and still work of the H-Sphere CP.

Quote:
I may be wrong but aren't you - Peachtree if so your web site states.. "Peachtree WebWorks' NOC has two Liebert 10 ton industrial air conditioners that condition our computer rooms and operations center. Air temperature is maintained at an optimal 65 degrees Fahrenheit." -> http://ptww.net/hosting.php 'If' you are 'Peachtree' then come on guys - play fair.... you can't slag off a host whilst doing the same thing yourself! and don't come back with that 'landiserve said it first'..... 'If' you're not Peachtree - then I apols for the confusion..... I take it all back (though I don't know where landiserve gets off posting details about other hosts here.... ) Regardless....... of 'who you are' Quote:
You've obviously spoken to Vortech prior to posting .... so whilst I understand your frustration and sympathise - naming and shaming is also 'very unprofessional' - what is that you hope to achieve by this post? Vortech are quite right not to intervene - and why should they? This is between 'you' your 'new' client and the 'old' reseller.

I'm not the one who brought up anything about who owns or uses what servers. I was simply stating that one host is not cooperating with another in tranferring a customer who was not satisfied with their level of service. Thats it period!

Garreg, I just thought it was funny, I for one don't even have a webhosting site, you can check me out, I make no claims about anything! Maybe I was wrong in posting it, but I would not hide the fact I was a reseller, and that I use someone else equipment, because it is better than what I can get for any reasonable price for sure! I am even trying to help the other small-time resellers now by making a resellers "end-user" help section, that can be easily modified for any host using Vortech/Matrix, yet I doubt I wil use this myself as I do all my support in-person.
