Domain e-mail setup

I host 9 client sites. One client contacted me and asked a way how they could check their e-mail from the road. I have been trying to figure out why when I type http://mail.theirsite.com a page comes up and says There is no website configured at this address. How can I set this up so they can get to their e-mail?

for webmail they can go to
http://216.157.131.123

many of us have set up an A record for our serviceplandomain that points to the webmail ip 216.157.131.123 because it is easier for clients to remember

ex.
http://webmail.yourservicedomain.com

I also put a webmail login box on my cp login page

they can log into their cp and launch their webmail from there.

if they are using their own laptop they can check it thru outlook express with pop3

For my Cpanel accounts, I have given my clients the following:

www.yourdomain.com/webmail

Remind them that they need to use their full email address to login: e.g.: client@yourdomain.com

Not sure if it's different for Hsphere.

Thumbs up Thank You!

Thank you for your help. I'm using CPanel and the webmail.yourdomain.com doesn't work but the IP numbers do for all my accounts. I take it this is through H-Sphere? I'm a noob at this so bear with me please. The yourdomain.com/webmail works just fine, but is there a way when they login to limit those three options, (Neo-Mail, Horde and Squirrel Mail) to just one? Don't want to confuse clients with three choices, just want to keep it simple for them.

You may want to have your clients use their own mail client software, such as Outlook or Outlook Express. If they are windows users, they most likely have the client software already installed.

It is not too difficult to configure (you could probably walk them through it over the phone).

Question

Okay, maybe I'm blind, but...

Where do I find Horde? He's lost. Or I'm lost.

I moved one of my clients from HiVelocity to Matrix/Vortech and they want to use Horde. They don't like @Mail. I see discussions of Horde in the forums. And I've searched the Knowledgebase, but the one-liner "knowledge soundbites" don't help.

How do I get to Horde, and where should I have looked to find this information myself?

Thanks!

Horde is not available to H-Sphere users, it was replaced by @mail

You should be able to install it yourself though under your service domain and get it working with a bit of mucking around.
