Hello Everyone,
The local time is now 4:15p
NT3 - 45%
NT16 - still consolidating at 99%
NT31 - 45%

I must say, I agree with some of the ideas as I said some of them myself. However, everyone had a weeks notice to prepare for this. I'll check NT16 shortly and if it's finished, I will make a post, otherwise, I post different information regarding it's status(Free Space).

We had a week notice to prepare for a 2 - 6 hs downtime.
That is clear like water, Not 12 hs , not 24 hs, you did not noticed us to prepare for that.

NT3 is going at at rate of 3 % per hour, do you any idea how more this is going to take ?
I can assure it you will be easily 12 hs more if not 24 hs more.

Shut down this maintenance now , you are destroying our business.!!

DO YOU THINK WE CAN HOLD 24 HS MORE OF DOWNTIME!!

Don't blame us for not being prepared, nobody is prepared for this, unless you let them know the real facts.

It seems to me that your side is the unprepared one for this maintenace!!
As mentioned before by other members there is ways to do this without shutting down all systems, You should know that!!

I still can't believe that you are planning to go on, even though you can clearly see that will take at list 12 hs more to complete this.

However, everyone had a weeks notice to prepare for this.

We had a week to prepare for 2 - 6 hours of downtime.
If this is the attitude you have towards those of us who chose to use your services then all I can say is wow.

Maybe it's time for us to choose someone else who at least shows us some respect and can actually keep their part of an agreement.

In my view, no planned maintenance should take this long. That's what the planning is all about, finding solutions that will make the maintenance as painless as possible for those affected.

And I'm not sure how we were supposed to prepare for this, other than moving affected clients elsewhere...

I went on IRC and asked if copying file-by-file to a fresh drive would result in a defragged drive and sources say yes. So, perhaps this will be how other machines are handled and downtime will be greatly reduced.

You get what you pay for. Of the hosted sites I've dealt with, this one is the most responsive and reliable for the money. Although it would be nice if we considered load ballancing. That way if one server goes down, the other would keep on line. Can be costly though..

Brian, that's not true, and frankly in bad taste to push the blame to us. We had 3.5 days notice. Besides, in this case it's not about the notice, but about the assumption that it would take 2-6 hours, when in fact it took you over 14.

It's clear you need another way to do this next time...

Hello Everyone,
Ok, so checking the initial post date, you're right. I apologize. Anyways, NT3 is running chkdsk right now. The other 2 should be back up. I will suggest that we run some tests before proceeding with the other machines. This test would involve copying some drive to another, then running a program whether it'd be windows defrag, or something that would show how fragmented the drive is, which will hopefully be none. Well, I'm going to check on NT3 and hopefully get the heck outta here to return to the office.
