Exactly. And that is creating a major prob with my client. This is the thrid time it happened with this particular client of mine. The first two I mumbled out some tech jargon and it settled out. But third time the same prob and the fellow is hopping mad.

Incoming Mail viruses

Starting Jan 30 thru yesterday I suddenly started receiving emails from the same address with slight variations to the subject, message and attachment. The first one was an .exe file, then a .com file and most recently .cpl files.

I assume they are all viruses.

It is a while since I remember receiving emails with these kind of attachments. Have there been changes to our incoming screening? Anyone else experiencing this?

I added the incoming address to my spam control on my email address tonight, but I thought the rest of you might like to know to block kmarshalls@yahoo.com which I assume is a phony.

I didn't think we were on the "forward" mail system anymore. If we are or if Vortech can prevent the entire mail network from going unreliable again or move to make it better I would love for them to put this as a priority!

One last grump regarding email - which is bound to happen and my clients are bound to leave when it does... One day the email server will spit the dummy (maybe spam, maybe hard disk failure, etc, etc) and everyone's mail will be lost and unrecoverable because there are no email backups. I really wish I didn't have to wait for the catastrophe in order to see the remedy...
