I was going based on your posted code.
"-customerservice@cleantech.co.uk" This is incorrect.

I also run an e-commerce site here but Vortech did give me plenty of notice that all emails needed to come from a valid From address. I had weeks to debug my scripts and I had zero down time.

I thought the php.ini only worked on Win servers?

Am I wrong there?

i think candypress allows you to set the email address of the store, and that is the address it used in the mail function... as long as it is valid, everything should work fine...

How do I send mail from a site that has a mail server outside the network? Mail is disabled on my main domain because I host mail elsewhere and my form stopped working. I've tried setting the from address to a valid address from a subdomain but that doesn't work either...

So any changes to global setting must be done through code or htaccess I guess, is there any other way on unix?

I beleive that is just for win boxes, no?

I'm using php on unix. Is there any way to send an email from a webpage on a domain that has mail turned off in hsphere? I've tried using "from" addresses from other domains owned by the same user that do have mail turned on and nothing comes through. This is starting to get frustrating. All of my forms have the "to" field hard coded into them so I am the only one who receives the mail. If anyone tried using them for spam I'm sure I would be the first to know. Maybe you could set the filter to allow mail from httpd to the domain it's being sent from.

As a temporary fix you could have your forms actually be hosted at the same server that you use for mail and just have them appear as new window when a link is clicked from your site hosted here. It's a little cheesy but will work until you are able to solve a work around here.

I dont disagree with you - but on the other hand don't think that perfectly good 'off the shelf' scripts should require editing at all to make them work.

Vortech have always made excellent efforts to support its resellers and the action taken at combating SPAMMERS is no exception - however it's a bit like shooting yourself in the foot if we can't get things to work without editing of code..... Getting no SPAM is one thing - but getting no emails at all is another. Apart from that - bounced emails are still coming back marked as 'forward.vortechhosting.com'.

I'm just playing the devil's advocate here, but one could also argue that, no matter how popular it may be, a script trying to send email without using a valid from address is not "perfectly good".
